Minister reiterates call for more women at decision-making level in private sector
KUALA LUMPUR: The country's corporate sector should provide more female members at the decision-making level.
Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, in making the call, said the public sector had surpassed the 30 per cent target for women with high ranking positions.
"In the public sector, we have achieved over 38.2 per cent of women representation at the decision-making level, holding senior level positions in the Jusa category.
"We hope to achieve similar numbers through advocacy to make sure that even government linked companies (GLCs) and the corporate sector meet the goal," she told the press after attending the Women Leadership Foundation's (WLF) breakfast conversation programme with the United Nations here, today.
