Komander WCB/PSK Pasukan Gerakan Am JKDNKA, Datuk Mohd Zaki Ashar berkata, serbuan kira-kira jam 7.15 pagi itu membawa kepada penahanan seorang lelaki tempatan serta rampasan pelbagai bahagian haiwan hidupan liar dilindungi. Katanya hasil pemeriksaan menemui 55 pasang tanduk disyaki tanduk rusa, tiga batang sumbu badak dan 330 keping sisik tenggiling. Turut dirampas bangkai serta kulit ular sawa, tengkorak disyaki burung enggang, tulang dan gigi gajah, tanduk tambadau, hempedu beruang serta beberapa bahagian haiwan lain. Beliau berkata, siasatan awal mendapati suspek memperoleh bahagian haiwan itu dengan membeli daripada penduduk kampung di kawasan pedalaman Sabah selain mengambil mana-mana bahagian haiwan yang ditemui untuk dijadikan koleksi peribadi. Katanya, aktiviti pengumpulan itu dipercayai bermula ketika suspek berkhidmat sebagai renjer hutan sejak 1986 sebelum bersara pada 2019 atas faktor kesihatan.
