Squash: Rachel goes down fighting to Nele in Malaysian Open

KUALA LUMPUR: Rachel Arnold stretched second seed Nele Gilis of Belgium to the limit before bowing out in the semi-finals of the Malaysian Open Squash Championships at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil today.

World No 26 Rachel, who upset world No 23 Nadine Shahin of Egypt 3-1 in the quarter-finals on Thursday, went down fighting 12-10, 0-11, 9-11, 11-7, 6-11 in 63 minutes.

World No 14 Nele will face top seed Olivia Fiechter of the United States in the final tomorrow.

Olivia defeated third seed Tesni Evans of Wales 7-11, 11-7, 11-1, 11-7 in the other semi-final match.
