Spanish court dismissal decision on alleged heirs of Sultan Sulu shows their claims are baseless: Hajiji

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has welcomed the Spanish Court decision to dismiss an appeal by alleged heirs of Sulu Sultan in relation to their compensation of Sabah.

"This shows that the claim is just baseless.

"This will calm the feeling of Sabah people and the state," he said, during the handover of four-wheel drive vehicles for the 21 Community Development leaders (UPPM) unit offices at Menara Kinabalu here.

Yesterday, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said that the decision effectively ended the claimants' judicial strategy in Spain.
