KOTA KINABALU: The curfew around waters near seven districts in the Eastern Sabah Safe Zone (ESSZone) will be extended until Feb 19. Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Idris Abdullah said the curfew, which was initially scheduled to end tomorrow (Feb 4), covers waters near Tawau, Semporna, Kunak, Lahad Datu, Kinabatangan, Sandakan and Beluran. He said people living in the area are prohibited from approaching or being in the declared area between 6pm and 6am. "This order will be continued to ensure that the waters in question are not invaded by terrorists who threaten the safety of international researchers conducting research and foreign tourists visiting the resort island.

KOTA KINABALU - Sabah UMNO liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin today confirmed that Sabah UMNO has received reports of several incidents of disruptions at UMNO divisional delegates meetings in the state, last Saturday (March 18).
Bung Moktar, who defended his position as Kinabatangan UMNO division chief after winning unopposed, said the commotions involved, among other things, the voting process management process and members not being eligible to vote in the party's election at the meeting.
Without referring to any UMNO division, he also asked the UMNO divisions involved in any untoward incidents at the meeting to make a report to the central UMNO Elections Committee for further action.
