KUALA LUMPUR: Singles shuttler Ng Tze Yong was the only Malaysian shuttler left standing at the Thailand Masters today.
The world No 29 advanced to the quarter-finals with a commanding 21-16, 21-8 win over South Korea's Heo Kwang Hee to prevent a wipeout of Malaysian shuttlers as early as the second round.
Tze Yong will take on fourth seed Angus Ng of Hong Kong for a place in the semi-finals.
Angus advanced after eliminating Malaysian world No 44 Cheam June Wei 21-9, 12-21, 21-9.
