Govt aims to reach RM35 bil agri-commodity export value in 100 days

PUTRAJAYA – The Plantation and Commodities Ministry has set a 100-day key performance indicator (KPI) to boost the agri-commodity sector’s export value to RM35 billion, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
Fadillah, who is also Plantation and Commodities Minister, said the KPI includes improving palm oil smallholders’ wellbeing by helping them achieve 55,000 tonnes of fresh fruit sales through Koperasi Penanam Sawit Mampan.
Another goal is to develop 2,000 skilled workforce in the sector, modernise its management and ensure the commercialisation of six research and development projects, he said.
