5 tonnes of durians snapped up in 2 hours

KOTA BHARU: Five tonnes of durians were snapped up in just less than two hours at Kampung Semat Jal, Wakaf Baru here, thanks to a couple's interesting method of promoting the king of fruits.
The husband-and-wife sellers, Shahmi Azani Mohd Tanazi, 30, and Saidatul Fatini Shamsudin, 30, sell durians by the basket, with prices ranging betweenfrom RM10, RM25, RM40 and RM50.
Shahmi said they started selling the durian at around 10.30am and finished within two hours or less.
"We sell the durian off the back of the lorry. Customers usually bring their own baskets and fill them to their hearts' content.
